Bridget worked as a housemaid for the Lady of the Manor. After giving excellent service for a number of
years, one can imagine how distraught her Ladyship was when Bridget said she would have to leave her
Ladyship's employment, as she was pregnant.

Her Ladyship begged Bridget to stay, and said she would legally adopt the child. They were both happy
with this arrangement.

The following year Bridget approached her Ladyship with the news that she was again pregnant and would
have to leave, and once again Her Layship adopted the child. This was repeated the following year.
A year later Bridget tried to give her notice in again.

"Oh, don't tell me you are pregnant again Briget" said her Ladyship.

"Oh no" said Bridget "It's just that I can't stand your bloody kids any longer!".
